Google Server Architecture

Google is often closed mouth when asked about the secret architecture of service as searching engine in the world. But a few days ago to inform of sites such as Cnet.com Google reveals little about the embryo of server architecture.
While most companies buy servers bulit up from the famous types of vendors Dell, HP, IBM or Sun Microsystems, Google has thousands of servers and even designing and building your own server as the server assembly as usual when we are doing up a computer that's sold separately perpheral .
Google's first server is a computer with a 3.5 inch thick made of 2 units of rack. 2 processor, 2 hard drives, and eight memory slots which is planted on the motherboard 2 gigabytes that accompany property AMD x86 processor, and Intel.
The most surprising is the power source at this time to spend with 250 kilowatts server was 1.160 using the 12 volt batteries as backup power when there are problems with the electrical voltage source. May sound strange, even for people who run this system on Google as a worker not only surprised with the architecture of a backup battery that is used by google, but the fact that Google has made this as a secret for several years. Even the design architecture of this kind have been valid for seven generations from the start of 2005 until now.
Confirmed the purpose of implementing this system, the problem concentration saving energy resources into electricity which is the main reason. Even with the implementation of this system such as Google claim to have been party to save the operational cost is not small. Results of research conducted by google when compared with the use of uninterruptible power supplies (UPS), use the battery will save as much as 8% more efficient from the UPS, which is approaching 99% efficiency. Even the use of batteries as power back-up claimed that there is no energy in vain terbuang. Have you so believe that the search engine may now be used to use this you only run in the top 12 volt battery power?
